And welcome to the grand re-launch of The HWL!
I am so excited to be starting this new journey here as a self-hosted blog – and I can’t wait to get to know all of you new readers as well as re-establish relationships with my old supporters here at the new site.
To christen this new home at TheHWL.com, I’m kicking the month off with an entire week of posts. So stay tuned for a new post every day this week, and join me by continuing the discussions in the comments!
First thing’s first though – I guess a little introduction is in order!
The HWL is a blog aimed primarily at readers from ages 16 and up. It focuses on books, music, movies, and television shows – and most importantly, those every day life experiences that connect us all. I encourage you as readers to participate in discussions, follow along with The HWL via social media, and allow yourselves to be inspired to find those ways in which we can all strengthen our personal character and make the world around us a better place.
I’ll let you know a little bit more about me and my background and family in Monday’s post, but in the meantime be sure to check out the About sections linked below for more information about the site! And if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me here.
And don’t forget to follow me on Social Media!
Anyways, now that the basics are taken care of, I thought I’d leave you with My Top Three Goals for The HWL for the next few months, so you can get a little idea of what there is to look forward to in the coming weeks!
Here are my goals for the first few months of The HWL:
1. There’s a lot to be said for consistency in blogging, so I’m going to be aiming for 3 posts per week – hopefully that will be enough to keep you all coming back for more, but still give me time to make sure my content is quality, not just posted in quantity. I tend to go with the flow when I write, but I’ll do my best to stick to a schedule that goes something like this:
2. Revamp old content – I know, I know, what’s the point of switching things up if I plan on keeping some things the exact same? Well, because I’m nowhere near done growing as a writer yet, and there are a lot of things that I have shared back at my old wordpress-hosted site that I feel have promise, but aren’t quite up the the level that I want them to be. I think this will be a good exercise for me to learn how to edit my own work, plus it will be a good opportunity for some of you new readers to get to know me!
3. Learn, grow, inspire and have fun! I am super-duper excited to be here at the new site, and I can’t wait to dive in headfirst and learn all there is to know about self-hosting. I know I’m about to grow in ways I never anticipated, and it’s a little scary, but I’m ready. I’m also really looking forward to getting into the groove of things, and really finding my footing here at the new site, and as a blogger. I hope we can inspire each other and enjoy ourselves a long the way, through some great discussions!
With all that being said, now I’d love to hear from you!
Feel free to leave a little introduction about yourself – or your blog if you’re a fellow writer! – and let’s start this first week off by getting to know each other a little bit!
(If you wanted to comment with how you found out about the site, that would be awesome too!)
