Every Sunday I like to do a little series called “Sunday Songbird” in which I share two or three (usually two) songs, accompanied by a selection from their lyrics, that are close to my heart or have been stuck in my head recently.
They are not always my favorites, or by my favorite artists – in fact, “Sunday Morning” which I have shared below, is one of the only Maroon 5 songs that I like, and I’m *gasp* not a fan of Lionel Richie at all. But as every music lover knows – sometimes you just have to let the rhythm take you where it will!
Anyways, even though they’re not very reflective of ME, I still thought the following songs would be a good way to introduce any new readers out there to one of my favorite blogging traditions.
I hope you enjoy!
“Sunday Morning rain is falling,
Steal some covers, share some skin,
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable,
You twist to fit the mold that I am in…
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do,
And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew,
That someday it would lead me back to you…”

“Now why in the world would anybody put chains on me?
I’ve paid my dues to make it,
Everybody wants me to be what they want me to be,
I’m not happy when I try to fake it, no,
Oh, that’s why I’m easy,
I’m easy like sunday morning…”
Easy* – The Commodores
What has been the best part of your Sunday so far? Whether it was off to a rocky start, or smooth sailing, I hope you and yours have a great afternoon!
